On Giving Thanks
Dear Misha & Puff community,
We are pausing our communications for a moment to provide space and time to rest and be with your family. This can be the busiest time of year.
Our Misha & Puff team has been growing, supported by community members like you who participate in all we have to offer, who believe in our mission to produce sustainably, and to respect the makers and communities surrounding our business. Thank you for being a part of this journey. Seeing how Misha & Puff is a part of your lives, your family’s life, and your children’s lives is a beautiful reward.
One very special part of this journey has been solidifying our home in a part of Massachusetts near my childhood hometown. Massachusetts is where we opened our first office, and then a bigger one, and where we now have a storefront. Creating and growing out of these spaces, and sharing them with you all, has been extremely gratifying. There is something about the changing colors and climates of the seasons here that inspires my creativity. A piece of New England goes wherever Misha & Puff goes.
I would be remiss as we quiet down this week, if I didn’t also acknowledge the complicated history of this particular time of year. We have our storefront and headquarters on the Indigenous land that was home to the Pawtucket, Massachusett, and Wabanaki. We want to take time this week, and always, to share our deep appreciation for the opportunity to create and thrive in their traditional homeland.
As part of our acknowledgment, we will be making a donation to the Massachusetts Center for Native American Awareness and encourage you to make a donation to an organization in your area. If you have kids in your life and are looking for other ways to open a dialog, we love the books Fry Bread by Kevin Noble Maillard and Birdsong by Julie Flett.
Thank you for being on this journey with us.
With love,
Anna & the M&P Team
